However, this does not take away from the essential nature of this doctrine. Improper theology is in essence idolatry, as we create in our minds a false god, and worship it.

Where do we start when debating between Sovereign Grace and Arminanism? It is such an essential doctrine, and its effects so far reaching that one could write a dozen books on the subject and merely scratch the surface.

I would say that the place to start would be the Sovereignty of God.
What is God? What is the nature of His will? Can God be thwarted? Does God author history, the present, and the future, or is He the god of the Deist who claims that God has no dealings with men, or the universe? Is God omniscient? Is God Righteous and Holy? Is God a Just God?
What about Man? Is man basically good, or totally depraved? Are we dead in trespasses and sins, or are we merely sick? Can we reach out to God as fallen creatures?
What about the Fall? What was its nature? What was Man before and after the Fall?

All the above, and many more, are essential doctrines of orthodox Christianity. If you call into question even one of them you call into question the most basic nature of our Lord. Arminianism calls into question every last one of the aforesaid doctrines and many many more essential doctrines of the faith.

The Arminian claims that God desires all men to come to Him. - If what the Arminian says is true, we serve either an impotent, or lazy God.
A God who is not omnipotent is not God. A God who is not able to effect His desires upon His creation is no greater than His creation, this is the epitome of idolatry. It would be no worse to worship a God of wood or metal. The idol is entirely dependant upon its "subject" to accomplish its design, and the idol of the Arminian is entirely dependant upon the creature to fulfill His design, the salvation of mankind.

The reformed fellow however believes in Sovereign Grace, that salvation is of the Lord alone, He elects, and completes our salvation. He is the Author and Finisher of salvation. We believe that all whom God desired to save, He has and will save for the sake of the shed blood of Christ. We call those whom God has chosen to save the "elect" of God, and all those are safe in His hand for eternity. God desired the salvation of His elect, and He accomplished it without reservation. This is the true God, omnipotent and able to save.

The Arminian claims that God "looks through the tunnels of time" and merely sees what goes on in the future. How blatant a heresy to claim that the God who created time is bound by its restraint! God does not see the future, He authored it.
Many people who cannot escape the doctrine of election try to explain it away by claiming that God saw who "would have believed" and based His election accordingly. The logic that concludes this is laughable at best. Salvation by nature is initiated by God even the Arminian will not argue this. How then can the effect determine the cause? To claim that the author of salvation, somehow is effected by those whom he will author, in order to make him author them is so ludacris even my loopy mind cannot fathom it.
As always, the reason the Arminian comes up with this rationale is because he is stuck on the idea that everyone is entitled to a "fair chance". This Jacobin notion, if interpreted in the context of a Just God, puts all of us in Hell.

Another foundational element in this debate is the nature of the sacrifice of Christ. How does Christ's atonement "work" so to speak?
In order for God to effect the salvation of His church and remain Just, the sins of the church must be punished totally. This punishment must be meted out upon one with the same existence as the Church, yet on one so great that He could endure the wrath due to all the elect, not just one. The wrath of God must be meted out upon a being so great, infinite, and eternal that an eternity of eternities worth of wrath could be endured.
The only one who could fulfill this was Jesus Christ, He was "very man and very God".

I say all this to show that if God poured out His wrath towards every individual in its totality upon Christ, then a Just God could not of right punish any man. God can not, and will not punish a man for sins and sin nature that has all ready been punished in Christ.
The only way this works, is if Christ died for the elect only, and suffered the wrath of Almighty God, for the elect only.
The elect are now safe, heirs of Christ, and purified in Him.

Though countless volumes could be written upon the attributes of God, and the nature of Christ's finished work I will stop here and move on to mankind and our total inability.

So, what is man? To find out we must begin at Creation. Mankind was created in the image of God, perfect in every area. Mankind was able to experience true communion with God, and man's nature was pure. Man was created with a "Free Will", able to chose what he desired and a "free agent" so to speak.
This would seem to agree with Arminians would it not? This is only so because I have not yet mentioned the Fall. All the above changed with the Fall. Man is now bound to his sin nature, and is unable to experience communion with God in his fallen state. Now our inclination and will is only evil continually, all our actions are done with sinful motivations.

As long as we are "In Adam" we are in Sin, and dealt with accordingly. We are dead in sin, and unable to change this fact. Fallen man by nature hates God exceedingly. How can a dead man who hates God, choose and desire God and communion with Him?
The Arminian claims that this desire is a result of the Will of man. Man's will is bound to sin, every action is under the bondage of his sin nature. Therefore the Arminian's claim is an impossibility.

What is the correct answer? God regenerates the will of man, changes his inclination, and instills a love for God in his heart. As a result of this, man repents of his sins, and strives to live in accordance with the Word of God.

The only way the Arminian doctrine works is if God is impotent and fickle, and if man is a free moral agent and not in bondage to sin and sin nature.

Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

I believe this applies to all idolatries, Arminianism included. Theology is not a frivolous matter, it is serious business. It is this alone which motivated me to write this short dissertation on Arminianism. The Glory and Name of God is my passion, and it fills me with Righteous anger to see God portrayed as He is not. I know I am not very concise and eloquent in my arguments, and I realize I bounce around alot in my writing. However, I pray this helps you in your walk with our Saviour.

For the Crown Rights of Christ Jesus,

R.G. However, I guess it is time to get back to blogging.

Today I would like to write on advancing the Kingdom of God in politics.

Several Lord's Days ago I heard a life-changing sermon by my Pastor (you can listen to the sermon at http://www.thereformedchurch.net/sermons/singlesermon/10158) about doing all things for the Kingdom. There should not be an atom of our beings not dedicated to the Lord and His service. Every one of our actions should be geared towards one thing, advancing Christ's Kingdom.

I applied this to an area of my life that has always been important to me, politics. My interest in politics has waned quite a bit in the last few years, mostly because it had become my religion and the Lord convicted me through the preaching of His Word that I had made it an idol. However, I now am of the conviction that Christians should passionately pursue politics, but for a different reason than I used to.

I looked to advance the Glory of the South, or in many cases the "Kingdom of Limited Government". While the South is my home, and country, and while limited government is most certainly the most sound political belief, that should not be what we advance in politics.

We should use politics for one reason, to advance the Kingdom of God.

Now that we have established that fact, how do we carry it out? The answers to this are far too many to post, but the one thing I want to establish is our motivations.

If the reason we do anything is not to glorify God Almighty, and advance His Kingdom, it is sin.

We are not papists who claim that there is a "secular" part of our life, and a "sacred" part of our life, we are Christians. Christ purchased His elect with His Blood, and He was propitiation for their sins, and their sinful nature. There is not an atom of our being that does not belong to Him alone.

I would like to encourage young men interested in politics to continue to pursue it, but for Christ and His glory. We would cringe to see the Ecclesiastical government taken over by heathens, why do we allow the civil government to be taken over by the heathen without a fight?

Let us take dominion, and establish the Kingdom of Christ in the political realm!

Deo Vindice.

For Christ and Kirk,

R.G./Editor

Apologies

Compatriots;
I would like to apologize for not posting my sermon reviews on baptism. Edward Donnelly - Sermon Review

Compatriots;
I am going to begin a six part series doing a review on Rev. Edward Donnelly's sermon series on Baptism. Pastor Donnelly does a wonderful job defending the doctrinally sound view on the sacrament of baptism. I grew up a Credo-Baptist, but in the last several years the Lord has led me to the doctrines of the Reformed faith, and thus Paedo-Baptism. This is one of the sermon series that helped to seal my belief in Paedo-Baptism. In this six part series I will post the link to the Sermon I will be reviewing, and a day later (maybe two or three days later) I will post my review. These sermons are only about half an hour long, and are free to listen too, or download to your computer. I encourage y'all to listen, and then read my review.

I hope this helps any of y'all that are struggling with which application of baptism is the proper one.

Here is the link
http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=12506114418

For Christ and Kirk,

RGM

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://floridacrackercsa.blogspot.com/2010/03/rev-edward-donnelly-sermon-review.html' title='Rev. Therefore, they have adopted the title "teen" or "adolescent". An adolescent is a male with the maturity, responsibility, and duties of a BOY, who expects the treatment and privileges of a MAN.

However, in the old days, this was not so. Boys became men, not teens. There were 14 year olds going to war, running farms, and men not much older, marrying and leading families. They were forced to assume the maturity, responsibilities, and duties of manhood; and thus they received the treatment, and privileges of manhood.

So what happened?

Somewhere around the time of the Industrial Revolution, men like G. Stanley Hall, William James, and John Dewey etc decided to apply a new religious belief system called Darwinism to social and familial construct. Thus adolescence came about.

The theory of men like Hall was that the growth of a child, repeated the process of evolution. The being started as a single cell, and slowly evolved into a complete human at around the age of 18. The first 5 years represent a certain evolutionary period, the next 7 another period, and so on until adulthood.

This Darwinian theory is from where the phenomenon of adolescence comes. Do we really want to further these wicked theories?

Why do Christian parents foster these false "stages" of growth? Why do many churches foster this Darwinian belief through age segregated church services? And most of all, why do parent's send their children to public schools to be treated as "adolescents", and be encouraged to remain children and not grow into men (Many times until their mid-30s).

Men, it is time to grow up. Video games, "hanging out" at the mall, and doing other frivolous, childish activities are for CHILDREN. Its time to become men, put away childish things, and forget this foolish notion of adolescence.

For Christ and Kirk,

RM

New Name Suggestions

Compatriots;
I figured I would do in the latest "thing" and rename my blog. I have entertained thoughts of this for a while, somewhat because I am not as into the Southern Nationalist movement as I once was, and because I thought using my blog to promote the Kingdom of God on this earth would be far better than trying promote Southern Nationalist views. The fact that the Southern people are not a distinct people, or worthy of nationhood is not the issue, my beliefs are close to the same as before, but I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God before I am a Southron. This upcoming Lord's Day, in many churches across the nation pastors will be preaching "Super Bowl Related" "sermons", church services will be re-scheduled so their members can watch 22 young men defile the Sabbath and be praised for it. God's day will be blasphemed because churches and clergy care more about membership numbers and being "culturally relevant" instead of serving the Lord. Watching football for 3 hours on a Saturday is bad enough, but going to the lengths commonly practised by many evangelical churches today is down right wrong. If you have never considered the ramifications of these above actions, I urge you to consider them now. The church is in bad enough shape today, even without the frivolous and ungodly wastes of time Christians consume themselves with.

Deo Vindice.

RGM

Once Upon a Time, Men Wore the Pants

Just a quick picture post. I think the time has long since come to do a follow up on it, since I see it as a recurring problem in Christian society.

Well, here goes.

In this day and age, Christian society is ridden with the un-Godly chains of humanism, egalitarianism, feminism, and antinomianism. Mainstream Christians are too stuck on the Jacobin idea of "equality" (aka liberty, equality, fraternity) that they do not look to the Word for the ways in which we should live.

The main thrust of this post will focus on the effiminization of Godly Men, and the ungodly feminist treatment of Ladies in the current post-Christian society.

It is a strange sight today to see even remnants of the age of chivalry, be it opening a door for a lady, saying things like "No Sir" or "Yes Ma'am", allowing the girls to eat first at gatherings etc.

However, in days gone by, this was not so, especially in the South.

I believe that a society can be judged by the godliness of it's men and women and by the structure of the social and familial relationship of men and women.

If we are ever to reconstruct the Kingdom of God on this earth into something pleasing to His sight, we have to destroy the modern stereotype of males (aka: Guys) and replace them with God-Fearing manly men.

One of the more subtle but very important ways to do this is through nomenclature. Why a God-fearing Christian would ever use the term "guys" except because of mere habit, astounds me.

Let us break down the word "guy" shall we?

Common Uses of "Guy"

"You guys" - Reference to a group of more than 1 people of various gender.

"Youse guys" - Same as above, but in New Jersey (sorry pastor :D)

"guy" - A male who is not feminine, but who is far from being a man: A general reference to the modern day male.

I don't know why anyone would want to use such a word. If "guy" can be used for both male and female in the plural form, why would one want to use "guy" as a reference for a man?

Feminst culture has destroyed the respectful use of "ma'am" and created the use of "guys".

This video is a perfect example - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryEGmkjv8R8&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Fvideo%2Egoogle%2Ecom%2Fvideosearch%3Fsourceid%3Dnavclient%26rlz%3D1T4DKUS%5FenUS283US283%26q%3Dcall%2Bme%2Bsenator%26um%3D1%26ie%3DUTF%2D8%26ei%3DLgJ%2DSsDLIZS6M&feature=player_embedded

Another severe problem in our post-Christian culture is the great equalization of the sexes.

By equalization, I don't mean that men are worth more than women or that women are worth more than men, but each sex has different roles ordained by God.

Some of the great "role reversals" that are epidemic in american culture are the glorification of women police officers, women soldiers, women with "careers", and (in my opinion) worst of all glorified women politicians (not just liberals like Nancy Pelosi, also so-called conservatives like Sarah Palin and Condoleeza Rice).

( I don't think anyone on my blog would go to a so-called church with a woman pastor or office bearer, so I won't focus on that issue at this time).

What has become of men today? Are we so effiminate that we have failed in our duties and forced women to do our duty in our place? The answer is yes. We have fallen for the Jacobin presupposition of "equality" hook, line, and sinker. We send our daughters off to war, or encourage them to go to college and "make something of themself", as if raising a godly family does not do that!

The diversity Nazis (as I affectionately call them) have diversified everything into an eternal state of homogenization. There is no separation of men and women, and "gender roles" are spoken of mostly negatively.

Y'all, I have rambled on and on about the negatives of our post-Christian culture, and I am sure y'all get the point that we are in deep trouble.

However, how are we, as Christians, going to change our culture? After all, the pagans can't institute the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth, that is our duty. The answer starts in our families. We can't expect a culture to turn around by merely "keeping the Democrats out of Washington" or making Constitutional Amendments instituting morality in Babylon's government. We must reform our families into earthly examples of God's heavenly kingdom.

After reforming our families, we must reform our churches. Your family can't reform very well if you attend a 501.c3 church where the gospel is not accurately taught, and the clergy is beholden to Babylon's corporate empire in Washington D.C. . Until the cry of "Sola Scriptura" is heard again in our churches, we cannot expect our culture to become truly based upon scripture.

The Christian Zionist/Dispensationalist "churches" need to focus on helping their parishoners follow the Word of God, instead of focusing on "mission trips" to some far heathen country (not that I disagree in principle with missions, but it is hard to be a city set on a hill when we are drowning in the muck of worldliness along with the heathen).

Well y'all, in closing, start changing the culture by saying yes ma'am, no sir, and holding the door open for ladies. You'd be surprised at the difference it makes to people, and how much it makes them think.

Deo Vindice.

Sic Semper Tyrannis!

Haud Rex rgis tamen Jesus!

For Christ and Kirk,

RGM-runner up for blogger with the longest signature.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://floridacrackercsa.blogspot.com/2009/08/men-vs-guys-revisited.html' title='Men vs. Guys -
